Our favorite stories of the perfect pair

"I've known Margaret for what seems like forever - bonding over music, food and boys to forge a "second best friendship." I remember the day after she and Kevin went on their first date thinking that this guy had to be crazy to take her on a hike at 2 in the morning. Luckily, I got to live with both Kevin and Margaret last year and form a more substantiated opinion of Kev. And it turns out he really is that crazy! Kevin is always up for anything, always on the go and always ready to go to the mat over the things he is passionate about. Fortunately, Margaret is exactly the same way. Getting to see this great couple love inspired me on a daily basis. I can't wait to see them walk down the aisle together!"

"Sulli and Margaret first hung out at the brown house where Marge and I lived fourth year.  If I remember correctly, it was on Maggie's bday (Halloween)...the night we all came in late one night from the Biltmore and started dancing on the tables in the living room.  John had his arms in the arms of Maggie's shirt making her dance like a puppet....ahhh, memories.  Sulli snuck away into Margaret's room where they chatted all night.  Anyhow, leading up to that point, I know that Moutoux had always said they should get together b/c they were so much alike (two whirlwinds of energy)."

"I once asked Margaret what kind of guy she would like to marry. She told me he had to love the outdoors and play the guitar!  When we met Kevin, we could all tell that he loved the outdoors.  However, guitar was not part of his portfolio.  So, we gave him a guitar for his next birthday. The rest is history! PS Not only has he learned to play guitar, but he and I jam sometimes when he is in Leesburg and he has written lots of songs - especially one for Margaret and one about how his parents, Roger and Susan, met. We are so blessed to have Kevin and all the Sullivans in our lives. Love you both always and forever."

"Margaret and I lived together the first 2 years of college. We usually met boys at the same time. And if I wasn't with her when she met one, I got the full play by play at a mile a minute the next second I saw her. And while she was relaying the story, she was usually online trying to find whatever information she hadn't procured from the source. Margaret hadn't dropped all of her habits by the time she met Kevin, but she was just different about him. They met one night in the middle of the night when she was asleep and he was hanging out with her roomates (this was 3rd year - I didn't live with her anymore). Her roommates woke her up to meet this guy they'd been telling her about. She told me the story and it didn't register as that significant, until the next time she saw him. The next time they were at the Biltmore and started talking and they left and drove out to go hike up a trial (I'm not good with the C'ville hiking scene, but it's the same place he proposed in May), and talked for hours. I wasn't with her that night, but she tracked me down in the dining hall of all places the next day at noon (it had to be big news to drag someone without a meal plan to Newcomb). She was glowing and her face told me she had huge news...but Margaret couldn't find the words to tell me about this date. I was pretty sure right then and there that I better like this guy, because he was going to be around for a long time. Don't get me wrong, we still drove by his apartment once or twice at 2am to see if he was home and looked up old pictures of him in the Greek directory and other people's first year faces books, but, despite those silly college girl antics, I think she's known since then. I think I have too."

"One of my most favorite memories of Kevin and Margaret was when
Ethan and I went out to visit them in Colorado and one night we all were home cooking dinner. It was picture perfect. Listening to good music, laughing, singing, and cooking. Specifically peeling shrimp.  The moment is memorable all right, someone didn't fully peel the shrimp, inevitably causing everyone to peel and eat.  It was funny...Good going, Kevin!"

Love, Renu
